Glossary Mesier Catalogue Caldwell Catalogue Star Trail Sizes Spot Size Depth of Focus Image Sensor Sizes Electromagnetic Spectrum Daylight Saving Dates and times of various astronomical events Please note that all times are approximate local Coonabarabran times (unless otherwise stated) which take into account daylight savings. This means that if your planetarium software indicates a variation in time from those listed below you must make your own decision as to which time you can trust. It is just like you always know the time when you have one watch, but are never quite sure of the time if you have more than one watch. The software used to predict the following events and the times of their occurrence was Starry Night Pro.

It will first become visible in these latitudes next weekend (14th) and could then rival or outshine Venus. However it is very close to the sun, so will not be visible for long after sunset. Details can be found at "http://msowww.anu.edu.au/~rmn/C2006P1.htm". The comet is already at mag -1 and is easily visible to the naked eye to observers in northern latitudes. Last Quater Moon
